Degree requirement Course offering  

                   

  一. Degree requirement

   (1) Degree requirement: a minimum of 36 credit hours

   (2) credit hour structure

    A. Required courses: A minimum of 12 credit hours must include Syntactic Structures of Chinese, Research Methods, Chinese    
     Language Teaching Methods and Materials, and Chinese Language Teaching Practicum.

     B. Elective courses: a minimum of 24 credit hours.

    C. Prerequisites: students withouts undergraduate credits from the two courses: Introduction to Linguistics (4 credits) and History
     of Chinese Literature (4 credits), have to take those two courses, which are excluded from the 36 degree requirement credits.

    D. Thesis: 6 credit hours.

  二. Language criteria

    A. Domestic students: at least GEPT-intermediate in English language proficiency.

    B. International students: at least TOP 7 or HSK 10 of Chinese language proficiency.

  三. Eachgraduate student must has a minimum of two journal articles or conference papers. For the article with more than one authors,
     the credits are calculated as follow: 1/ the number of authors.

  四. Each graduate student must complete a minimum of 72 credit hours in practicum.

  五. Each graduate student must attend a minimum of 2 TCSL relevant conferences.
